  • About Us

A family owned business, which is well known for supplying touring caravans throughout Western and Central Scotland, Halleys Burnhouse Caravans came into being as a company in 1948. The business was started by one of our current director's grandfathers after purchasing three caravans, one of which he decided to retail.

Now past our Diamond Anniversary year 75 years later in 2023, the business is located in the pleasant North Ayrshire countryside and the small village of Burnhouse, where we have been established since 1985. Centrally located between Ayr and Glasgow, a thirty minute drive either way, Burnhouse is a great choice when thinking about your next caravan, servicing needs or accessories. Our current team at Burnhouse have a wealth of knowledge regarding all aspects of the touring caravan industry, its associated products and are ready to answer any enquiries you may have or advise you on any potential purchase, be it a brand new tourer or which kind of toilet chemicals to use once you've bought one.

New sales are represented by one of the most popular brands in the UK, Swift. For the 2026 season, we are still able to supply the entire Swift range though limit on-site stock to the popular Basecamp, Sprite, Challenger ranges, all award-winning ranges along with the now re-introduced Conqueror range. The Elegance range is also available for order representing the very peak of touring possibilities.

For 2026, the Sprite range has been streamlined, paired down and refined to four, key layouts designed for individuals, couples and families alike. All models represent a back-to-basics approach with the refinement and build you'd expect from Swift and each model is lightweight, opening the option of touring up to people who may not have been able to tow before - the Major 4SB for example now has a laden weight of under 1,400kg! You'll find smart, grey sides with accent graphics and a complimenting grey gas locker door and 14" alloys. Swift's SMART construction is also found throughout with a timberless build backed by a 10-year manufacturer's warranty for piece of mind.

The Basecamp range, has a style of it's own and still after 10 model years in production a striking, unique sight on the UK's roads. For 2026, the model range continues on from it's 2025 standard with only an update in the washroom to a White Stipple finish. Besides this you'll find a great standard specification including, 17" Diamond Cut Edge alloy wheels, exterior BBQ, 230v and shower points, 120w roof mounted solar panel. There's also shock absorbers to smooth out the ride when touring. Inside, you'll find grey and blue highlights throughout the furnishings, a DAB/FM stereo (introduced in 2025), Swift's Command system with Tracker option (subject to subscription) and a host of features Basecamp owners love such as bed bases which lift up revealing tether points for larger loads such as bicycles. Also for 2026, Swift have slimmed down the Basecamp range to the original Basecamp 2 only - this popular layout being the mainstay since 2017.

Finally Challenger gets a make-over for 2026 with a smart graphics scheme over grey sides. The range has grown massively to incorporate a number of 6-berth family layouts and at the other end of the scale, the small but perfectly formed 390, which has a body of just 6ft 8ins in width - everyone should be able to find a layout that suits their needs! Inside you'll find the new Truma CombiNeo heating system, which has the lightweight, maintenance free side of a blown air system but a new efficiency that can heat water in just a few minutes and provide continuous hot water in less than 10! Additionally, you'll find exterior BBQ and 230v points, ALKO ATC trailer control coupled with an AKS Stabiliser, roof mounted 120w solar panel, dual fuel hob, large fridge freezers and much, MUCH more!

All three ranges are built using Swift's 'SMART+' construction methods, eliminating timber from the structure and incorporating balanced GRP panels, hail-resistant roof and a woven underside to build a strong, dependable tourer backed by a full 10-year manufacturer's warranty.

We also have a wide range of warranted, approved used caravans from a variety of manufacturers including Swift, Sprite, Sterling, Bailey, Lunar, Elddis, Coachman and more. These range in budget, weight, layout and specification with many more added on a regular basis - if you can't find something in our current line up, leave your details and we'll get in touch when we source something that does or be able to let you know of anything coming in that may meet your specifications.

Our NCC Approved Workshop is staffed by factory trained and qualified technicians, who can carry out annual servicing, maintenance and a variety of specialist repairs and insurance work. The Approved Workshop Scheme (AWS) was formed on a tripartite basis between the NCC, The Caravan and Motorhome Club and The Camping and Caravanning Club and we adhere to the standards set out by the scheme, supplying standardised servicing documentation with each service to guide you through the various aspects of the work that's been completed and the points checked on your caravan or motorhome's (NCC approved manufacturers only) habitation.

There are also a wide range of accessories and parts available from our fully stocked leisure shop. From essential accessory packs to get you started on your touring journey, to larger accessories such as motor movers, air conditioners, solar panels and satellite systems. Everything you may need to keep you touring and enjoying the best of your caravan or motorhome.

We appreciate that buying and maintaining your caravan is a hugely important decision and we here at Burnhouse would like to assist by offering all of our customers good, honest advice along with great customer service and satisfaction at every step of the process.
